Schaffhausen/Ginebra, 9 abril de 2024: La filántropa, autora, súpermodelo global y embajadora de la marca IWC, Gisele Bündchen, se unió a IWC Schaffhausen en el renombrado evento Watches and Wonders en Ginebra.

Este año, el fabricante suizo de relojes de lujo presenta su nueva colección Portugieser con diseños revisados, nuevos códigos de color y nuevas complicaciones, como el Calendario Eterno Portugieser.

La exposición temática “Un Tributo a la Eternidad” muestra el ciclo infinito de día y noche con un guiño especial a la Luna y el espacio.

One of the best football players in the world, Kerr plays for Chelsea Football Club and is captain of her home country’s national team, the Matildas. She is a true driver of change, leaving her mark on football for the better. Kerr’s authentic and uncompromising spirit in both her sport and community giveback resonates with IWC and made the relationship an effortless fit.

With almost half her life spent playing professional football, Sam Kerr has dedicated her career to football and successfully so. She currently plays as a forward for Chelsea Football Club and is the captain of the Australia women’s national team. Widely recognised as one of the best forwards of all time, Kerr is the only female player to have won the Golden Boot in three leagues and on three continents.

Kerr’s front-facing role is one that she has fully embraced and thanks to her family, she has done so humbly. Known for citing how her family has played a vital part in her career, Kerr often credits them for helping her stay grounded. As her career continues to flourish, so does the change she is pushing for in sports. An active advocate for equality in sports, she encourages everyone to be themselves and come together to achieve greatness. Kerr has co-authored an inspiring collection of children’s books about everything from sports and following one’s dreams to friendships, school, and dealing with bullies.

She is as decorated off the field as she is for her achievements on it. In 2018, she was honoured with the Young Australian of the Year award and a Medal of the Order of Australia for her “service to football” in 2022. She is Australia’s greatest goal-scorer and a record five- time recipient of the PFA Australian Women’s Footballer of the Year award. Not only a national treasure, her list of international achievements includes three ESPY Awards for Best International Women’s Soccer Player and two FWA Women’s Footballer of the Year awards.

As an athlete, Kerr is particularly drawn to the IWC chronographs – from the sporty Pilot’s Watch to the stylish Portugieser and classic Portofino. With a history deeply rooted in professional instrument watches, the 69000 calibre is the newest IWC-manufactured movement to come from the decades-long expertise. It is engineered for performance and distinguished by its robustness, precision, and accuracy, making it the quintessential mechanical stopwatch. Amongst Kerr’s preferences are the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 (Ref. IW388110) and the IWC Portugieser Chronograph (Ref. IW371611). The 41-millimetre timepieces are respectively powered by the 69385 and 69355 calibres. Housed in 18 carat 5N gold cases, both movements can be admired through the sapphire glass backs. While the pitch green Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 might be the obvious choice for a football star, Kerr is known for having her own style and opted for a personalised version of the Portugieser Chronograph. She fitted it with a durable rubber strap in burgundy, giving the elegant timepiece a modern twist. Kerr explained how it just popped on her wrist and felt like the perfect sidekick for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World CupTM – both on and off the football field.

A clearly organized dial and excellent legibility even under the most demanding conditions are the key features of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph. Thanks to the robust 79320-calibre chronograph movement, it is possible to record single and aggregate times of up to 12 hours. The subdials at “12” and “6 o’clock” are used for aggregate timing while the red seconds hand at “9 o’clock” indicates that the watch is running normally. The movement has optimum protection against the effects of external magnetic fields in the form of a soft-iron inner case. The watch is water-resistant to 6 bar and is supplied with an elegant stainless-steel bracelet. Textile straps are also available. The back of the stainless-steel case features an engraving of a Junkers JU-52, whose cockpit design was the inspiration for all Pilot’s Watches.

La primera boutique IWC Schaffhausen de México abre sus puertas en el centro comercial de lujo Palacio de Hierro Polanco.

Schaffhausen ha invitado a varias leyendas deportivas a disputar un entretenido reto de golf, entre ellas,
Tom Brady, siete veces vencedor del Campeonato mundial de fútbol americano y Lewis Hamilton, también siete veces ganador del Campeonato del mundo de Fórmula 1.

Tras el evento «The Big Pilot Challenge» del miércoles en el Miami Beach Golf Club, los cuatro relojes de IWC lucidos por los jugadores se subastarán online por parte de Bonhams, la casa internacional de subastas. La recaudación será para la Fundación Laureus Sport for Good, que apoyará con ella a organizaciones de Miami sin ánimo de lucro como Dibia Dream, que ofrece ayuda a los jóvenes a través de la educación y el poder del deporte.

In 2016, IWC took a step back towards the roots of the Big Pilot’s Watch and gave it a gentle facelift. The IWC-manufactured 52110-calibre movement unites some of watchmaking’s greatest achievements. It features an efficient Pellaton automatic winding system with parts made from black or white ceramic. With the help of two barrels, it builds up a reserve of 7 days. The display at “3 o’clock” indicates the time remaining until the movement comes to a stop. The Big Pilot’s Watch has a date display at “6 o’clock” and the central seconds essential in any watch used for flying. The 46-millimetre case, which is water-resistant to 6 bar, encloses a soft-iron inner case that protects the movement against magnetic fields. The watch also features a striking conical crown. The legendary Junkers JU-52 plane is engraved on the case back of the Big Pilot’s Watch. This model comes with a black calfskin strap, which perfectly complements the watch.

IWC Schaffhausen ha presentado una suite con temas exclusivos del dos veces ganador del Óscar de la Academia, Hans Zimmer. El aclamado compositor de bandas sonoras se ha inspirado en los cinco nuevos colores cerámicos presentados por el fabricante suizo de relojes de lujo como parte de su nueva colección de Relojes de Aviador TOP GUN. El propio Zimmer dirigió el concierto de presentación de la suite en un exclusivo evento celebrado esta noche en el Théâtre du Léman de Ginebra, organizado con motivo de la exposición Watches and Wonders. Antes de la representación en el Théâtre du Léman, Hans Zimmer se reunió con el siete veces campeón del mundo de Fórmula 1TM y embajador de la marca IWC, Lewis Hamilton.

Hans Zimmer ha participado en más de 200 proyectos en todo tipo de medios y ha sido galardonado con dos Óscar de la Academia, tres Globos de oro, tres Grammys®, un Premio americano de la música y un Tony®. Entre sus trabajos más reseñables, se encuentran las bandas sonoras de Dune, Sin tiempo para morir, Gladiator, La delgada línea roja, Mejor… imposible, Rain Man, la trilogía del Caballero oscuro, Origen, Thelma y Louise, El último samurái, 12 años de esclavitud, Blade Runner 2049 (compuesta junto a Benjamin Wallfisch) y Dunquerque, así como las bandas sonoras de películas más recientes como Wonder Woman 1984, Hillbilly, una elegía rural de Ron Howard y Bob Esponja: Un héroe al rescate. En 2019, Zimmer también compuso la música para el remake en imagen real de El rey león, por el que recibió una nominación a los Grammy® como mejor banda sonora para medio visual.

IWC Schaffhausen y Zimmer, en una de las primeras colaboraciones entre un fabricante de relojes de lujo y un compositor de bandas sonoras, se han unido para dar vida a un proyecto único: The Sound of Color. Los especialistas creativos de IWC han desarrollado cinco nuevos e impresionantes colores cerámicos para la nueva colección de Relojes de Aviador TOP GUN, de presentación reciente, con los que se han creado relojes con llamativos diseños monocromáticos. Zimmer ha tomado esos colores como punto de partida de su composición musical, creando cinco piezas, una por color: The Sound of Color – IWC Ceratanium®, The Sound of Color – IWC Mojave Desert, The Sound of Color – IWC Woodland, The Sound of Color –IWC Lake Tahoe y The Sound of Color – IWC Jet Black. La música añade así una nueva y sorprendente dimensión a cada uno, la emoción del sonido.
